top endTeam LAF 2015 are getting very excited.  There are only a couple more days to go before the sixth [yes Sixth] Lindfield Arts Festival kicks off.

Each year has had a different theme and focus and this year proves no exception. The High Street will feature prominently on Saturday as a backdrop to local performers.  Listen out for the church bell peals to open the Festival.

We're starting off with the Comedy Night and after a good night's rest will prepare Lindfield High Street for its traffic free day of fun and frolics.  The Plays will be one of the main features but don't forget the workshops happening around the Village and the activities, performances and art and craft displays.

Sunday has the Barefoot Players in the Lindfield Primary School performing their 'Little Women' whilst there will be a band playing in the Stand Up to round the Festival off.

Sue PearsonSaturday and Sunday in the King Edward Hall have a wonderful exhibition of Arts and Crafts.  Surely there'll be something for everyone and it's not too early to shop for Christmas is it?

Lots for everyone to see and do - join us. enquiries@lindfieldartfestival.com

Alex Wilson, a prolific abstract artist died on 19th April 2015. Born in Scotland in the 1930’s he travelled and worked in a variety of occupations until he settled in Eastbourne, becoming a well respected coin expert and authoring a prestigious book about gold coins. A man brim full of humour and fun, he was also a chess champion, snooker player, avid music fan and yoga practioner.

He painted and sketched throughout his life and devoted much of his time in later years to his passion for art, creating a diverse portfolio of abstract works in acrylic, oil and pastel as well as sketches and collages. His diagnosis of Dementia with Lewy Bodies in 2008 affected him in many ways including tragically his ability to hold a brush or a pen.

We are honouring his talent by presenting a Memorial Exhibition of his work to support and promote Dementia UK. The charity funds the provision of Admiral Nurses to assist families affected by dementia. 100% of proceeds from the exhibition will be donated to Dementia UK.

Alex exhibited around Sussex including at the Towner Gallery in Eastbourne and sold successfully. In September there will be an exhibition of original work in various sizes and media, both framed and unframed. Viewers will have an opportunity not only to enjoy his fascinating portfolio but also to buy the originals and order giclee prints of popular pieces.

The Lindfield Arts Festival has offered to host our exhibition free of charge and we hope to find sponsors to help with promotion, printing catalogues and to help fund the Private View. There is also a 'Just Giving' page for donations from people who can't join us in September.
